Walking through the Health Sciences Center on the Decatur campus you may encounter what looks like an ambulance crew helping an injured person, an operating team with a patient undergoing surgery, or a hospital ward where nurses are checking patient IVs and giving injections. You also might see a physical therapy clinic where PTAs are applying treatments and teaching client mobility techniques, or discover the dental hygiene clinic where real clients are having their teeth cleaned.

On the Huntsville campus, in the Math, Science, and CIS building, nursing students practice patient skills in simulation classrooms and medical laboratory technician students use microscopes and other testing equipment to learn how to analyze body fluids and examine cells for diagnostic purposes.
