Anita Walden Joins Calhoun Community College Board

The Calhoun Foundation Board of Directors announced today the addition of Anita Walden, Vice President and Chief Nursing Officer at Decatur Morgan Hospital (DMH), as its newest member of the Board.
Walden graduated as a Registered Nurse from Calhoun Community College and has spent her 29-year career in healthcare at DMH. She has been an ICU staff nurse, a charge nurse and a director of multiple clinical departments. During her tenure at DMH, she has effectively established trusting, respectful relationships with physicians and other professionals throughout the organization and community. In addition to her Calhoun degree, she earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the University of Alabama-Huntsville (UAH) and a Master of Management in Health Care at Vanderbilt University.
She has served in various capacities in the community including Decatur High School (DHS) Choral Booster club founder and president for six years, DHS PTA board member multiple years, member and officer of the Junior League of Morgan county, member of the DMH Foundation Guild, volunteer with the Morgan County Community Free Clinic, has been an active volunteer and participant in numerous events sponsored by DMH Foundation and has served on several occasions as a preceptor for post graduate nursing students.
