Pre-Engineering Program of Study

Associate of Science Degree

This program is for those who plan to transfer to senior institutions and pursue a B.S. degree in mathematics. Students who plan to pursue a bachelor’s degree in engineering may also choose this program, but should check with the transfer institution regarding humanities requirements.

  • CIS 251* C++ Programming - 3
  • CHM 111 College Chemistry I - 4
  • MTH 126 Calculus II - 4
  • MTH 227 Calculus III - 4
  • MTH 238** Applied Differential Equations I - 3
  • MTH 237***Linear Algebra - 3
  • Electives as identified through STARS for the chosen senior institution's requirements - 7
  • *except Chemical Engineering, Biosystems Engineering & Biomedical Engineering

NOTE: Students should take MTH 125 and PHY 213 with PHY 216 and PHY 214 and PHY 217 in Area III. (Exception: Biosystems Engineering at AU requires only Physics course)

Students are required to complete 9 hours each in Areas II and IV and 25 hours in Area V.
