Preparing Outstanding Parents
The Alabama Parenthood Initiative is part of a statewide network of public, private, non-profit, and faith-based organizations working to enhance the ability of parents to fulfill their roles and responsibilities for their children’s emotional and economic wellbeing.
To encourage strong families and empower parents to meet the needs of their children through a comprehensive array of services and strong community partnerships promoting responsible parenting, healthy marriage, and fostering economic stability.
While eligibility is not limited to these populations, API has a particular interest in serving the following target populations:
- Low-income parents
- Parents who are refugees or immigrants
- Parents at-risk of facing challenges
- Parents who did not complete high school
- Non-custodial, non-resident and other single parents
- Parents with disabilities
- Parents who are veterans
