New to Calhoun and VA Benefits?

If you have never used your VA educational benefits before, you will need to complete a couple of steps depending on the chapter for which you qualify. Please remember that it will take the Department of Veterans Affairs at least eight weeks to process your application and send you a Certificate of Eligibility.

Post 9/11 GI Bill (Chapter 33)

Steps to apply for your benefits:

As with all current veteran education benefits, Chapter 33 recipients are required to pay all tuition/fees by the payment deadlines applicable to all students. Students that have submitted a Certificate of Eligibility before the deadline can have their schedules “held” until payment is received from VA.

Steps to apply for your benefits:

Students must verify enrollment and attendance with the Department of Veterans Affairs each month online at www.benefits.va.gov/gibill or by calling 1-877-823-2378.
