STEVE SMITH, a lifelong resident of Athens, graduated from Athens High in 1968. He attended Calhoun Community College, graduating in 1970 before transferring to UNA, formerly known as Florence State University, receiving his B.A. in Business Administration. Steve’s career spanned some 40+ years in
finance and banking. He served his community well, holding many board positions over the years, to include Athens Limestone Hospital board for 27 years
(Board Chair for 7 years), United Way board member, founding member of Athens Limestone Hospital Foundation and serving the Calhoun Foundation
board for numerous years. The scholarship will be designated for students going through Calhoun’s Health program.
