Non Degree Seeking Students

Admission Requirements for Non-Degree Seeking Students

A “non-degree seeking student” is someone who wishes to attend Calhoun Community College but does not seek a degree or certificate. Below are the steps and requirements for enrolling as a non-degree seeking student.

*NOTE: If you’ve earned a Bachelor’s degree from a regionally accredited college or university, you are only required to submit the official transcript from the degree-granting institution.

Conditional Admission

  • Non-degree seeking students may be conditionally admitted pending receipt of official transcripts.

  • Important: Failure to submit official transcripts by the end of the first semester will prevent future registration and release of official Calhoun transcripts.

  • Note: Non-degree seeking students do not qualify for federal financial aid.

Auditing a Class

An “audit student” registers for credit courses on a non-credit basis. Auditing a course means no credit will be awarded toward degree requirements. Below are the specific guidelines and requirements for students interested in auditing classes at Calhoun.

  • Audit students must follow the standard admission procedures outlined for first-time, transfer, or returning students.
  • Tuition and fees for auditing courses are the same as those for credit courses.
  • Federal financial aid cannot be applied to courses taken on an audit basis.
  • Health science courses are not available for audit, and any courses audited must meet the necessary pre-requisite requirements.
