Dual Enrollment/Accelerated Students

Programs for Area High School Students

Calhoun Community College, in collaboration with area high schools, offers students the opportunity to enroll in college coursework while still in high school. Two programs have been approved by the Alabama State Board of Education: The Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit for High School Student Program and the Accelerated High School Student Program. Although the basic criteria for enrollment are similar, each program has unique features. Review the information for each and discuss your eligibility with your counselor to determine which program best meets your needs.

Dual Enrollment Registration Deadline for online classes or classes on a Calhoun campus for the Spring 2026 semester is Wednesday, January 7, 2026.

Dual Enrollment / Dual Credit Program

This program allows qualified students to receive both high school and college credit simultaneously.

* NOTE:

Students must meet all course prerequisites, including completing the Calhoun Placement Examination or meeting minimum ACT/SAT score requirements in English and Mathematics. Students may not enroll in developmental courses or take any course on an audit basis under the Dual Enrollment/Dual Credit program.

Accelerated High School Program

This program allows qualified high school students to earn college credit while still in high school.
