Adult Education

 

The Calhoun Adult Education Program provides academic instruction up to the college level. Areas of instruction include the following:

  • Reading
  • English
  • Mathematics
  • Social studies
  • Science
  • English as a Second Language
  • Preparation for the Alabama High School Exit Exam
  • Preparation for the Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Batter (ASVAB)
  • Preparation for the General Educational Development (GED) high school equivalency test
  • Preparation for the Placement Test
  • Preparation for WorkKeys Test

New Class Options

The adult education program of Calhoun Community College now offers onsite services for Madison County’s DHR located on Oakwood Avenue in order to better serve the clients as well as members of the community.

Both Ready to Work and MSSC will be administered by qualified instructors of Calhoun Community College’s Adult Education Program at the Madison County Department of Human Resources located at 2206 Oakwood Ave. NW, Huntsville, AL 35810.   The classes are intended to last between 4-6 weeks utilizing the following schedules:

MSSC CPT Class Kick Off
April 1, 2019

  • Orientation for New Students: Every Monday at 12:00 PM
  • Monday – Thursday: 1:00 PM – 4:00 PM
  • Class Type: Open Enrollment/Can Start at Any Time

Ready to Work Boot Camp- April 1st
May 10th, 2019

  • Monday-Thursday 8:00 AM-12:00 PM
  • Participants will need to register by March 27, 2019 in order to participate.
  • Tuesdays and Thursdays – Taron Ryce
  • Mondays and Wednesdays- Donna Starks
