Calhoun Advisors Work Around Social Distancing With Virtual Information Sessions for Students

The Calhoun Community College recruiting team will host multiple virtual information sessions via Zoom for new, returning, prospective and transient students each week beginning Tuesday, April 14.

“The coronavirus pandemic has completely changed the way we typically host events for our students and has also caused us to rethink our delivery methods,” commented Dr. Patricia Wilson, Calhoun’s Vice President of Student Services. “Although our campus may be closed to visitors at the time, our recruiting team is still committed to delivering guidance, advice, and information to our students safely from the comfort of their own homes,” added Wilson.

Over the next month, Calhoun’s recruiting team will present over 35 virtual sessions on 9 different topics to individuals looking to enroll in the college, obtain direction on how to pay for college or those who are returning home from another college and need to take classes at Calhoun. The session topics are as follows:

  • Looking for a Career Change?
  • Ways to Pay for College
  • 5 Simple Steps to Admissions
  • Online Classes – College on Your Time!
  • Don’t FEAR the FAFSA
  • Next Steps for Admitted Students
  • SENIOR Special for Current High School Seniors
  • JUNIOR Special for Current High School Juniors
  • Dual Enrollment Transition Day

Individuals who are interested in attending one of the Zoom virtual sessions can also text their questions to the presenter associated with the session they plan to attend. Questions are accepted Tuesday through Thursday between the hours of 9:00 am – 9:00 pm.
