Calhoun Announces New Cross Country Coach

The Calhoun Community College Athletics Division has announced Tiffany Bain as its new men’s and women’s cross-country coach.

The University of Alabama graduate brings over 11 years of coaching and marathon experience. Bain has utilized several running programs for individual training, which include, Couch to 5K, Fartleks, Intervals, Hill Repeats, Pace, and Long runs. She has also personally completed two marathons, 10+ half marathons, and over 50+ 10K and 5K marathons placing in various age groups multiple times.

“We are excited about adding the cross-country program to our athletics offerings,” commented Dr. Nancy Keenum, Calhoun’s Athletics Director. “Coach Bain will bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to this program with her vast experience of personal training as well as hosting 5K’s,” added Keenum.

Bain currently serves as Calhoun’s Physical Therapist Assistant Academic Coordinator of Clinical Education and Allied Health Department Chair. In this role, she covers instruction for the students enrolled in the program, which includes the basic skills a sports physical therapist assistant would need to provide the proper care to patients. She also provides instruction that covers Therapeutic Procedures, Neuroscience, Orthopedics, and Therapeutic Exercise.

“Tiffany’s first task will include recruiting students to join the College’s team and compete during the 2021 fall season,” said Keenum.

The season is scheduled to begin in September. Both teams will compete against various opponents within the Alabama Community College Conference (ACCC), the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA), as well as schools within the National College Athletic Association (NCAA) and National Athletic International Association (NAIA).
