Calhoun Community College Launches New CNA Training Program

July 2, 2018

As the need for more qualified healthcare workers increases, Calhoun Community College is expanding its offerings through its non-credit healthcare training programs.

Beginning early August, the college will launch its new Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training program. This 6-week course will be conducted at Calhoun’s Huntsville campus and will be held Monday through Thursday from 5:30pm – 9:30 pm each week.

The Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Training Program prepares students to provide direct patient care to the healthcare industry. Upon successful completion of the program, students will be eligible to sit for the state board exam, become certified, and listed on the Alabama Nurse Aide Registry. In addition to classroom instruction, the program will include a 20-hour clinical rotation at a long-term care facility. Clinical rotations will be held on consecutive weekdays.

To enroll, students must attend one of the mandatory enrollment sessions to be held on the following dates:

  • Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Room 121 – Huntsville Campus
  • Thursday, July 12, 2018 at 2:00 pm – 4:00 pm Room 121 – Huntsville Campus
  • Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at 10:00 am – 12:00 pm Room 121 – Huntsville Campus
