Calhoun Community College Makes Getting Your GED Convenient With New and Free Online Program

July 1, 2020

The Calhoun Community College Adult Education Department is currently accepting applications for its new online GED program.

According to Mindi Russell, Calhoun’s Acting Director of Adult Education, GED classes are held year-round and students can enroll at any time. Students have a broad range of scheduling options with classes available at more than 25 sites in surrounding communities. In addition, the new online platform makes getting a GED even easier. “We are very excited about our new online class option and feel it will assist those students who normally would not be able to attend classes due to scheduling conflicts,” she said.

Students interested in enrolling in the program must be at 9th grade education level as they will learn math, language, reading, science and social studies in their classes. “Our instructors take pride in assisting our students as well as ensuring they are engaged with Calhoun and understand the various degree and certification options available upon completing their GED,” commented Dr. Joe Burke, Calhoun Interim President.

The program is designed for students to complete their classes in one year. “Graduates from our GED program who take advantage of obtaining free certifications have increased their potential income by a minimum of $10,000,” added Russell. “We have so many success stories about our graduates and how their lives have changed completely after receiving their GED,” said Russell.
