Calhoun Community College to offer Computer Support Specialist CourseMay 30, 2018
Decatur, AL — The demand for qualified Computer Support Specialists in North Alabama continues to rise, and to meet this growing demand, Calhoun Community College has developed a course to prepare workers for these positions.
Computer support specialists are tech-savvy problem solvers who provide help and advice to people and organizations using computer software or equipment. Calhoun’s program is a short-term, non-credit course that prepares students for the CompTIA A+ exam and provides skills in problem solving, troubleshooting, and customer service. Students will become proficient at installing and updating hardware and software and finding solutions to common technical problems.
The course begins July 9, 2018, and will meet two evenings per week through October. Because the course meets the criteria for high-wage, high-demand career training, it has been approved for WIOA (Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act) funding, meaning that students who qualify may take the course at no cost. To determine WIOA eligibility, students should contact their local career center.
