March 28, 2018

The Department of Marketing and Strategic Communications at Calhoun Community College was recently recognized for its exemplary marketing efforts by the National Council on Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR).

During NCMPR’s National conference held March 18-20 in Las Vegas, NV, Calhoun received two bronze awards in the annual Paragon Awards competition in the following categories:

  • Video Shorts-Series: Calhoun Education Minute: Computer Information Systems & Surgical Technology (series)
  • Postcard-Single or Series: Renewable & Industrial Energy; Pipe Welding; and Aerospace Technology Flier (series)

According to officials with NCMPR, the competition attracted close to 2,000 entries. “At the conference, Calhoun Community College stood out and was recognized for producing excellent marketing videos and fliers among colleges that are ranked larger than ours in the nation. Words cannot express how proud and humbled we are to receive such recognition on a national level,” commented Janet Kincherlow Martin, Dean of Marketing and Strategic Communications.

The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations is the only organization of its kind that exclusively represents marketing and PR professionals at community and technical colleges. As one of the fastest-growing affiliates of the American Association of Community Colleges, NCMPR today has more than 1,500 members from nearly 600 colleges across the United States, Canada and other countries.
