Calhoun Student Organization to host events in recognition of Breast Cancer Awareness Month
October 11, 2018The Black Student Alliance (BSA) at Calhoun Community College will host events on both the Decatur and Huntsville campuses in recognition of October as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Events at both locations are planned for Wednesday, October 24, 2018.
The Huntsville campus event will begin at 11:00 am and will be held in the Sparkman Building. Speaker for this session is Cyndi Lemery, RN, with Clearview Cancer Institute in Huntsville. The Decatur campus session will be held in the Health Sciences Building, Room 109, beginning at 12:30 pm. Speakers for this event are Rachel Graham, RN, from Clearview Cancer Institute and Lee Lott, a breast cancer survivor representing the Decatur chapter of Pink Sisters, a local cancer support group.
According to event coordinator and BSA co-sponsor Trina Smith both events are free and open to the public. Anyone planning to attend is encouraged to wear pink. Additional information on the events may be found on social media at #CalhounGoesPink.
