Calhoun To Host NC3 Signing Day Event Celebrating Technical Education Commitments
April 18, 2024

Calhoun Community College along with other institutions across the country is hosting its NC3 Signing Day event on Thursday, April 18th, 2024, at 10:00 AM in the Advanced Technology Center (ATC) located at 6250 U.S. Highway 31 North, Tanner, AL 35671. The event is dedicated to honoring students committing to pursue careers in technical education.
“The Signing Day event celebrates the dignity of work and recognizes the significance of choosing a career in technical fields,” commented Calhoun President Dr. Jimmy Hodges. “Just like athletes who commit to playing college sports, this ceremony highlights students who are entering technical fields and emphasizes the importance of their career choice.”
During the event, students will join their peers to commit to their future technical program pathway and sign a Letter of Commitment to attend Calhoun Community College after completing their high school. The Calhoun Foundation will also be presenting a Certificate offering scholarships to two selected students. To be eligible, students must be registered to attend NC3 and present at the event.
“We are excited to celebrate and honor the students who are making a commitment to pursue technical education,” said John Holley, Calhoun Dean of Technologies. “As you may have heard, there is a tremendous shortage America’s skilled labor workforce. This event signifies the beginning of their journey towards rewarding careers and we are proud to support them.”
Calhoun Community College offers Associate Degrees, Associate of Applied Science Degrees and various Certificates in a wide range skilled labor technology programs.
