Calhoun’s Public Relations Team a finalist for National Paragon Award

The National Council for Marketing and Public Relations (NCMPR) announced Calhoun Community College as a finalist for its 2019 Paragon Awards Competition.

NCMPR reigns as the only national competition of its kind that honors excellence exclusively among marketing and PR professionals from over 650 community and technical colleges across the nation. This year’s competition collected over 1,000 entries among 53 categories. Calhoun submitted entries in several categories and placed in the poster-series category.

“When finding ways to creatively showcase our college’s mission and vision to the community, our marketing team does a phenomenal job in doing so,” says Dr. Joe Burke, Calhoun’s Interim President. “It is extremely important for our marketing team to remain abreast of the latest industry trends, so we make this possible through various professional development opportunities. They continue to produce new and appealing content that is not only recognized nationally, but it also continues to attract prospective students to the college,” added Burke.

The awards ceremony will be held on March 22-24, 2020 in Orlando, FL where NCMPR will announce winners of the gold, silver and bronze Paragon awards.


The National Council for Marketing & Public Relations is a professional organization for individuals involved in marketing, communications, public relations and enrollment management at community, junior and technical colleges. NCMPR provides professional development opportunities, advocates on behalf of the profession and the institutions it serves, and recognizes professional excellence. The national headquarters is located in Albuquerque, N.M., where a 14-member board of directors governs the organization.
