Calhoun’s Warhawk Student Ambassadors Kick Off Their 4th Annual Winter Drive for the HomelessOctober 17, 2018
The Calhoun Warhawk Student Ambassadors have teamed up again with the North Alabama Coalition for the Homeless (NACH) to kick-off their 3rd Annual Winter Drive. The official start to the event was Monday, October 1.
With freezing temperatures during the winter months in North Alabama, keeping warm is a struggle. Even during winter days, the wind and cold temperatures still don’t let up. Calhoun’s Student Ambassadors are seeking help from the local community to assist in spreading the gift of warmth to those in need this winter. While blankets are the main items the students are requesting, they are also collecting new or gently used winter jackets, gloves, and scarves, in all sizes. All items will be distributed to those that are less fortunate in Madison, Morgan and Limestone counties by the staff at NACH.
“Each year, we have been amazed by the huge outpouring of support from those in our local community. This year, we are hoping to receive at least 200 items to provide to NACH to distribute,” commented Sherika Attipoe, Warhawk Student Ambassador Sponsor. “We are asking that you share this information with your friends, companies, civic groups and churches,” added Attipoe.
Donations will be accepted until Monday, October 29, and may be dropped off at Calhoun’s Huntsville Campus, 102 Wynn Dr. NW, Huntsville, AL in the Grand Foyer in the Sparkman building and on the Decatur Campus, 6250 Hwy. 31 North, Tanner, AL in the lobby of the Math, Science & Administration building. All donations are tax-deductible through NACH.

About the Calhoun Warhawk Student Ambassadors
Warhawks are the official hosts and hostesses that represent Calhoun at special events and receptions on campus. We work hard and have fun doing it. We take pride in our school and our community and serve both by assisting with such activities as campus tours, high school college programs, local organizations, and other club and groups on campus with enthusiasm – all while keeping our grades up. It is a great way to meet other students, faculty and administrators, and become involved in student activities and your community.
