August 3, 2020 Update

  • We received notification on 7-30-20 that one student tested positive for COVID-19. The student has not been on campus since 7-7-20
  • We received notification on 8-3 that an employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee has not been on campus since 7-23-20, which was prior to exposure.
July 29, 2020 Update
  • We received notification that a student tested positive for COVID-19 on 7-29-20. A student enrolled in an online PSY 210 course. The student has not been on campus for the summer semester.
  • We received notification that a student tested positive for COVID-19 on 7-29-20. A student enrolled in an online ART 100 course. The student has not been on campus for the summer  semester
  • We received notification that a student tested positive for COVID-19 on 7-29-20. A student at the Alabama Center for the Arts participating in summer theatre rehearsals. All areas impacted have been cleaned and sanitized. 18-students were notified to quarantine. The instructor has postponed summer rehearsals.
July 28, 2020 Update
  • We received notification that a student tested positive for COVID-19 on 6-29-20. The student has not been on campus since 6-16-20.
  • We received notification that a student tested positive for COVID-19 on 7-14-20. The student has not been on campus since 6-16-20
  • We received notification on 7-25-20 that a student tested positive for COVID-19. The student was taking an online class and has not been on campus since the start of the summer semester in May.
  • We received notification that a Calhoun employee tested positive for COVID-19, but the employee has not been on campus since the start of the summer semester in May.
  • We received notification that a student at the Alabama Center for the Arts tested positive for COVID 19. All areas have been cleaned and sanitized.
July 21, 2020 Update

Calhoun Community College received confirmation on July 20, 2020 that a student at the Alabama Center for the Arts in downtown Decatur tested positive for COVID-19. The last time the student was on campus was July 8th. He received confirmation on July 17th and is quarantined until July 28th. All individuals impacted have been notified. The Facilities and Maintenance Department dispatched the janitorial staff to clean and sanitize all areas affected.

July 20, 2020 Update

Calhoun Community College received confirmation on July 17, 2020 that two individuals, a vendor employee and an instructor tested positive for COVID-19. Both individuals have not been on campus since Friday July 10th. In our efforts to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we have notified all individuals impacted. On Sunday July 12th and Monday July 13th , the janitorial staff cleaned and sanitized areas in the two buildings impacted. Both individuals who tested positive are taking appropriate health measures to ensure their safety and the safety of the college community. All individuals had been wearing a mask and following proper distancing guidelines.

July 13, 2020 Update

Calhoun Community College received notification on July 13, 2020, that one student tested positive for COVID-19. The student is receiving medical treatment in accordance with public health protocols. In our efforts to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we notified the instructor, students and all other individuals impacted. Our Facilities and Maintenance Department dispatched the janitorial staff to sanitize/disinfect all areas impacted as well as surrounding restrooms. We are also happy to report that the instructor and students have been wearing masks and practicing social distancing.

July 10, 2020 Update

Calhoun Community College received notification on July 9, 2020, that one employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is receiving medical treatment in accordance with public health protocols. Out of an abundance of caution and in our efforts to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus we notified the supervisor and all individuals in the work area impacted. Our Facilities and Maintenance Department called in the janitorial staff to sanitize/disinfect the employee’s work area, the surrounding area and also the restrooms. We are also happy to report that the employee who tested positive has been wearing a mask and practicing recommended distancing.

July 5, 2020 Update

Calhoun Community College received notice on July 5, 2020, that one employee tested positive for COVID-19. The employee is receiving medical treatment in accordance with public health protocols and is recovering at home through quarantine. Out of an abundance of caution and in our efforts to minimize the spread of the COVID-19 virus, we are notifying the supervisor and all individuals in the work area impacted. These individuals will be asked to take the appropriate health measures to ensure their safety and the safety of the college community.
