Calhoun Community College is excited to host a virtual community event for Cybersecurity Awareness Month. This year’s presentation will take place on October 29th from 2:00pm-3:00pm and will focus on web development security. Our presenter will be UAH Alumni Justin Bennett a Senior Software Engineer at Artsy.net, a website that provides a unique online marketplace for a growing database of 1,000,000 works of art, architecture, and design by 100,000 artists. He has previously had stops at Scripps Network Interactive (HGTV, Discovery, Food Network), Vencore Inc., and ADTRAN.

OWASP stands for Open Web Application Security Project and is a nonprofit foundation that works to improve the security of software. The OWASP Top 10 is a standard awareness document for developers and web application security. It represents a broad consensus about the most critical security risks to web applications. Using the OWASP Top 10 is an effective first step towards changing the software development culture into one that produces more secure code.
