Doubt (Winner of 2005 Tony Award & Pulitzer Prize) – Doubt, by John Patrick Shanley, takes place at a Catholic school in 1964, a time of great change in the Church and the nation. The school principal, a cold, rigid nun, suspects a priest, who is popular with the students, of having an inappropriate relationship with one of the boys, the first black student at the school. Armed with innuendo but no proof, she sets out to have the priest removed. Is he a child abuser protected by the male Church hierarchy, or is the nun trying to destroy an innocent man who threatens tradition and her authority
