During the fall term, Calhoun Dual Enrollment classes on high school campuses will adhere to the safety protocols and social distancing guidelines provided by ACCS as well as the Alabama Department of Education and the local education board. The Dual Enrollment office will continue to share all resources provided by ACCS, the college administration, Deans, Department Chairs, Distance Learning and the Office of Faculty Development with our high school Dual Enrollment adjunct faculty through their Calhoun and high school email addresses. Dual Enrollment will also continue to advise Dual Enrollment faculty to check their Calhoun email for guidance from the college, their Deans and Department Chairs.
The Dual Enrollment office will request that all Dual Enrollment instructors provide a plan for transition to remote instruction in the case of a healthcare emergency. Information regarding resources for limited or no internet or computer access will be provided to Dual Enrollment students and faculty.
The Dual Enrollment staff will continue a hybrid work schedule and will adhere to all college social distancing and safety protocols. Visits to high school campuses will be limited and will be in compliance with ACCS, college and high school policies. All advising/registration appointments will be virtual, either by phone or video resources such as Zoom or Microsoft Teams. Regular virtual advising events will continue to be scheduled, online orientation videos have been added to the Dual Enrollment webpage and the Dual Enrollment staff will work with area high schools to provide virtual meetings for students and parents. Dual Enrollment forms are now fillable and all documentation will collected by email. The Dual Enrollment office is continuing to contact students through text messages via Campus Cast regarding changes that have resulted due to the college’s response to the pandemic.
The Dual Enrollment office will work with the Faculty Development office to provide a mandatory online Adjunct Orientation workshop for all Dual Enrollment instructors and to continuously update the resource provided in the online Faculty Community. A virtual workshop for counselors is also being planned to provide information regarding Dual Enrollment for students on both the high school and college campuses.
