Institutional Scholarships are now closed for the 24-25 Academic Year.

Eligibility Criteria

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher

    • Honors Program Scholarship:
      • High school 3.5 or higher
      • College 3.25 or higher with 12 credit bearing hours)
    • Career Development Scholarship: 2.5
  • ACT of 20 or higher

    • Honors Program Scholarship:
      • 24 or higher
  • United States citizen

¹ The institutional scholarships noted may be stacked to cover tuition and fees up to 12 credit hours. These scholarships can be stacked with other institutional scholarships, but cannot exceed the amount of tuition and fees. To be eligible for the spring portion of any award, students must maintain a cumulative 3.0 GPA and complete at least 12 credit hours.

The Career Development Scholarship was created to help support the vision of “success for every student”. These scholarship funds will help students who are preparing for direct entry into the job market through our Career and Technical programs. If you are enrolled in an eligible program of study listed below, you could receive a scholarship at Calhoun Community College to assist with tuition and fees. Award amounts will vary and will be applicable toward tuition and fees only.

Eligibility Criteria

  • Complete Steps 1-3 listed above

  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Minimum 2.5 cumulative GPA
  • Accepted into an eligible program of study listed below

Students must be enrolled in credit-bearing courses toward an Associate of Applied Science degree or a Certificate program in one of the following divisions:

  • Business Administration

  • Design Drafting

  • Aerospace Technology

  • Air Conditioning & Refrigeration

  • Automotive Technology

  • Child Development

  • Computer Information Systems

  • Criminal Justice

  • Dental Assisting

  • Dental Hygiene

  • Electrical Technology

  • Industrial Maintenance

  • Machine Tool Technology

  • Medical Laboratory Technician

  • Music Technology

  • Nursing

  • Paramedic

  • Physical Therapist Assistant

  • Process Technology

  • Robotics/Mechatronics

  • Surgical Technology

  • Visual Communications

  • Welding Technology

How to be Considered

The criteria for this scholarship is determined by departmental Deans in conjunction with the Scholarship Advisory Committee. Scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis and are not guaranteed based on minimum eligibility requirements. Awardees are selected based on a completed scholarship application and combination of ACT composite score, cumulative grade point average, technical promise within their program of study, involvement in clubs and organizations, volunteer experience, and financial need.

The Pathways to Progress Grant is here to help you reach your goals and open new doors for your future. Funded to promote economic growth and social stability in Morgan and Lawrence Counties, this initiative provides:

  • Up to $1,500 per semester in financial support
  • Academic support services to help you stay on track
  • Connections to Career Services to prepare you for success after graduation

You May Qualify if You:

  • Are an Alabama resident currently living in Morgan or Lawrence County resident for the past 2 years
  • Have completed the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
  • Have completed at least 40 credit hours towards first associate degree
  • Minimum 2.0 cumulative GPA
  • Are enrolling in an Associate Degree Program at Calhoun Community College

How to Apply

It’s easy to apply for the Pathways to Progress Grant. Begin by completing the steps below:

  1. Apply for readmission to Calhoun Community College
  2. Complete the FAFSA to apply for financial aid 
  3. Submit the Pathways to Progress Application 

Application Deadlines

  • Fall 2025 – September 15, 2025
  • Spring 2026 – February 15, 2026

Each eligible high school in our service area receives two Principal’s Choice Awards. This is a one-year scholarship for $1,500 ($750 per semester). Eligibility is contingent upon a 2.5 GPA.

Nominations from the high school principal/counselor must be submitted to the Scholarship Office by March 1st.
