John Glenn Harbin, known as Johnny to family and friends, was born June 9, 1963. He graduated from Sparkman High School in 1981. He attended the University of North Alabama (UNA) in Florence, Alabama. He got a part-time summer job at Huntsville Utilities in the Meter Shop. This enabled him to get a job in the Electric Department which turned into a lifetime career with the company. He worked for Huntsville Utilities for 32 years. Johnny had a deep passion for his career and to honor that passion and his memory, the Harbin Line Worker Annual Memorial scholarship was established.
