Nursing

Welcome and thank you for your interest in our nursing programs! In our RESOURCES menu you will find links to information for each of our nursing programs.  The Nursing Department is located on the Decatur Campus in the Health Sciences Center (click here to see campus maps) and is comprised of both the Associate Degree Nursing and Practical Nursing programs. The office hours are Monday – Thursday, 8:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. and 8:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. on Fridays. Please contact the nursing department by phone (256-306-2794) with any questions about our programs.

New Application Information

  • Check out the Selection Process.
  • Qualify with your ACT or HESI Admission Assessment (HESI A2) composite score. The Calhoun Testing Center will offer the HESI A2 with same-day results.
  • Pre-Nursing Advising by appointment at advising@calhoun.edu.
  • Attend an Info Session to learn more!
  • Submit your application between February 1 – March 31 (fall class) or July 1 – August 31 (spring class)

Alabama Board of NursingCalhoun Community College nursing programs have the approval of the Alabama Board of Nursing.

The Registered and Practical nursing programs at Calhoun Community College meet the state education requirements for a Registered and Practical nursing license in the state of Alabama. Calhoun Community College has not determined if the Registered and Practical nursing programs at Calhoun Community College meet the state education requirements in any other state, any U.S. Territory, or the District of Columbia.
