Calhoun’s Healthcare Camp

The Healthcare Camp for 9th–12th grade students is a two-day summer experience held on the Calhoun Community College Decatur Campus. This camp is designed to immerse high school students in a hands-on exploration of careers within the health science programs of Calhoun’s Health Science Division, with a strong emphasis on high-demand opportunities.

Throughout the camp, students will engage in interactive learning experiences that introduce them to real-world healthcare skills and career pathways. On the second day, participants will enjoy a guided tour of the Huntsville campus, with transportation provided by Calhoun, further expanding their exposure to advanced training environments.

Overall, this healthcare camp supports students as they develop valuable, in-demand skills while exploring future career possibilities. It also fosters a meaningful partnership with Calhoun Community College in addressing local workforce development needs.

Calhoun offers health programs in: Dental Assisting, Dental Hygiene, Emergency Medical Services (EMT/AEMT and Paramedic), Medical Laboratory Assistant, Medical Laboratory Technology, Nursing (RN)/Practical Nursing (LPN), Physical Therapist Assistant, Respiratory Therapist Assistant, and Surgical Technology.
