Summer Youth Program With the Department of Human Resources DHR 

Calhoun Community College is excited to partner with DHR to provide Part-Time Summer Jobs!

Calhoun Community College, in partnership with the Alabama Community College System and the Department of Human Resources, is excited to announce that jobs are available through the DHR Summer Youth Program. Temporary part-time employment opportunities are open to individuals aged 16-24. Positions include clerical and technical roles, as well as general support and event planning, across Calhoun’s Huntsville and Decatur campuses. Individuals can select to work in various departments, including the Business and CIS or Health Sciences Instructional Offices, Advising, Athletics, Career Services, Financial Aid, Recruiting, Testing Center, Welcome Center, and Admissions.

Dates: June 1, 2026 – July 31, 2026

Position Summary

These positions are temporary summer employment opportunities through DHR at Calhoun. Positions will vary across the college and will include tasks such as:

  • Data entry, answering phones, filing and managing records
  • Event planning, set-up and break down
  • Greeting customers and directing on-campus visitors
  • Technical Support

Qualifications to Apply

Applicants must meet the following eligibility requirements set by the Alabama Department of Human Resources to be hired:
  • Must be between the ages of 16-24
  • Applicants household must receive TANF or SNAP
