About The Center for Cyber Security Education
The Center for Cybersecurity Education at Calhoun College is dedicated to fostering a secure digital landscape through comprehensive programs, resources, and training. We aim to equip students and the broader community with the skills and knowledge needed to navigate and protect the rapidly evolving cyber world.
Vision
The vision of the Center for Cybersecurity Education (CCE) is to provide cybersecurity education and community outreach to promote cyber safety. Our center promotes IA/CD education and best practices within and outside our campus to prepare next generation of cybersecurity professionals. Our cyber education program includes ethical and legal conduct for security professionals.
Mission
The mission of the Center for Cybersecurity Education (CCE) is to disseminate cybersecurity and information assurance knowledge through publications, events and classes. The CCE will collaborate with government agencies, private businesses, non-profit organizations, and other entities to promote awareness of cybersecurity issues. The CCE will also work to develop a strong cybersecurity workforce in North Alabama by supporting and promoting Calhoun Community College’s AAS degree and certificate programs in Cybersecurity / IT. Calhoun’s degree and certificate programs include a balance of theory and hands-on labs.
Guidance & Oversight
Calhoun Community College Center for Cybersecurity Education advisory board consists of Cybersecurity professionals from area businesses and educational institutions. Function of the board is to provide guidance and leadership for the center and academic program. Board members bring a wealth of cybersecurity knowledge from the local businesses and assist the center to promote cybersecurity education.
