Continuing Education & Training
We are here to support your continuing education needs. We can assist you by:
- Offering state approved EMS continuing education credit for qualifying classes taught at your agency or within your community.
- Providing loaner training equipment or use of training facilities.
- Providing resources to support instructors & training officers.
- Assisting with instructional design support & educational planning as you create new courses or update old ones.
- Providing a regional team member to your agency or educational program to present information on regional or state systems.
- Assisting with classes at your agency.
- Providing speakers to community groups or educational programs regarding the role of EMS or the EMS career pathway.
Providers are encouraged to check our calendar frequently for upcoming classes & training opportunities. We offer our annual cadaver lab each year in the fall. Participation slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
Online Continuing Education Classes
Continuing education courses are being continuously added to our website. All courses offer state-approved continuing education credit & may be used to satisfy state & national continuing education requirements.

Join us for our monthly continuing education courses! These courses are open to all EMSP levels and feature a different topic to satisfy the NCCP 2025 Model each month.

Procedural Cadaver Lab – Fall 2026 Dates TBA
Join us for our annual hands-on procedural cadaver lab! Participants will have the opportunity to view both airway & cardiothoracic anatomy up close while learning both foundational & advanced airway management techniques. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to view musculoskeletal anatomy & practice intraosseous placement at various sites. Skills include bag-valve-mask ventilation & basic airway management, supraglottic airway placement, direct & video laryngoscopy, needle decompression, and IO placement.
Critical care providers are welcome to join us for our critical care focused sessions!
Please note: Due to limited capacity, our cadaver lab is for emergency healthcare providers & select initial healthcare education program students only. We are unable to accept outside groups at this time.
Rocket City Emergency Medicine Conference – March 5th & 6th, Huntsville, Alabama
The Rocket City Emergency Medicine Conference offers high-quality, physician-led continuing education on a variety of topics. Featuring fast-paced sessions followed by Q&As with expert panelists, RCEM does not disappoint. RCEM brings together EMS providers, emergency physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and other allied health professionals for a day of shared learning that is steeped in mutual respect. Alabama EMS Challenge – Lectures & Skills
Join Dr. Ferguson & the Alabama EMS Challenge team at the Huntsville Public Safety Training Center on March 25th, 2026 at 9:00 a.m. for resuscitation & LVAD focused lectures, followed by a skills lab at 12:00 p.m. Lunch will be provided prior to the skills lab.
