Study at the ACA
Calhoun’s arts programs are located in the Alabama Center for the Arts (ACA) in beautiful downtown Decatur, which feels like a private art college campus. Students are part of a small, personal, and creative arts community, while studying in beautiful, state-of-the-art facilities that inspire creativity.
State-of-the-Art Tools & Software Training
A variety of software packages are utilized in the Visual Communications program, including the industry-standard packages, providing students with the background they need to become competitive in the field.
Blender is used in CAT 283 3-D Graphics and Animation, ART 283 & 284, Graphics Animation I and II. Blender has won runner-up in Mac Competition. This validates the use of the open source software Blender used in our class. Many Students ask about this software.
In addition, our Visual Communications Program teaches the full Adobe Creative Suite, including InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, XD, and Premiere Pro. Our courses also teach and incorporate ProTools, Figma, and other software as we see it being utilized in the workforce.
