Paramedic Program at Calhoun
Calhoun Community College’s Paramedic program prepares students for a fast-paced career in emergency medical services, qualified to provide the highest level of pre-hospital emergency care.
Graduates of the program will be eligible to sit for the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) Paramedic certification exam and apply for state licensure.

Your Path To An Entry Level Position
Associate of Applied Science in Paramedics (A.A.S.)
Paramedic (A.A.S.)
Calhoun’s Paramedic A.A.S. degree includes completion of general education courses followed by completion of a three consecutive semester program, beginning in the summer semester.
RN Bridge Program (A.A.S.)
The RN Bridge program is a 3-semester program to prepare licensed practical nurses (LPNs) and paramedics to obtain an associate in applied science (A.A.S.) degree in nursing. CNA certification is recommended for non-nursing applicants. Applicants to this program must meet all nursing admission requirements for the program, have completed all prerequisite general education coursework with a grade of “C” or better, and possess an unencumbered/unrestricted license as a Practical Nurse or Paramedic in Alabama. An active unencumbered LPN MSL with privileges in Alabama is also accepted.

This Long Certificate provides the training required to become a certified Paramedic, preparing students to perform critical emergency interventions. The program spans three consecutive semesters after completing prerequisites, with classes beginning each summer.
