What is a Career Champion?

Calhoun Career Services is excited to announce our new Career Champion Program! Career Champion is a campus-wide program designed to promote career readiness in Calhoun Community College students and graduates through visibly identifying faculty who are uniquely qualified to assist students with the career development lifecycle.

Course Description

The Career Champion program is an 8-month series that engages a small group of selected participants in a tailored curriculum designed to provide them with knowledge about the career development process and the foundations of employability, as well as teaching best practices for having career conversations with students. Participants will learn valuable takeaways related to career development theory, goal setting techniques, experiential learning, and how best to make referrals to available resources. Career Champions will also leave with resources they develop during the program and can use in their professional career. Those who complete the training program will receive a Career Champion badge to display in their office and their e-mail signature, inviting students to approach them to discuss career-related topics.
