Partner with Calhoun: Empowering Our Community Together

At Calhoun Community College, we believe in the power of collaboration to strengthen our community. Our success in providing impactful service learning experiences and real-world opportunities for our students relies on the invaluable partnerships we build with local non-profit organizations, schools, government agencies, and businesses.

We seek partners who can provide meaningful, safe, and supervised opportunities for our students.

General Expectations:

  • Offer students opportunities to render meaningful community service
  • Provide an opportunity for students to participate in work that will enable them to serve their community in various ways
  • Provide orientation and supervision for students as it is related to their specific agency responsibilities and duties
  • Inform the service learning coordinator whenever there is a concern or problem related to students that have been assigned to their agency
  • Keep track of the number of hours the student has participated (a timesheet is provided for all students). Please note that the instructor will inform the students as to the number of hours required for the class.

As a service learning community partner, your organization’s contact information will be shared with our students and faculty. They’ll then reach out directly to coordinate and schedule their volunteer shifts with you. Students are responsible for bringing a timesheet for your signature after each session, and they will submit these timesheets directly to us.
