Welcome to Work-Based Learning!
The best way to prepare for your future career is gaining hands-on experience while you’re still in school. Work-based learning (WBL) opportunities allow you to connect your classroom learning to real-world skills, giving you a competitive edge in the workforce. Whether you’re interested in gaining job experience, building a professional network, or developing practical skills, our WBL programs are designed to help you succeed.
Our diverse programs offer students the chance to explore various career paths while earning academic credit (in some cases). These experiences are designed to enhance your learning and set you up for long-term career success.

Collaborative Education Programs
The FAME, AMP, EPIC, ACE, and SET+ programs at Calhoun Community College are best described as application-based, cohort-based collaborative education programs. They begin each fall and are tailored to specific majors, integrating structured academic coursework with paid, industry-sponsored employment from the outset of the college experience. Unlike traditional co-op models, students in these programs begin their sponsor relationships concurrently with their coursework. Some employer sponsors opt to cover tuition costs for students, but this is not a guarantee.
