Hardware Support & Loaner Equipment

Our Student Technology Support Centers (STSC) provide hardware support and loaner equipment to assist you in your academic studies. The STSC locations are:

Decatur Campus

Brewer Library Foyer

Monday – Thursday:
9 AM – 4 PM


Friday:
9 AM – 11 AM

Huntsville-Research Park Site

Sparkman Building Foyer

Monday – Thursday:

Loaner Equipment

Calhoun Community College is pleased to offer the following equipment for use by students for their academic studies:
  • Laptops
  • Wi-Fi Hotspots*
  • Webcams
  • Calculators
  • Thumb Drives
Loan duration for all equipment is limited to a maximum of 30 days or the end of the semester, whichever comes first. Equipment is available on a first come, first served basis. Reservations are not accepted. Loan extensions may be granted to students in good standing and will be based on device availability. Upon return of the loaner equipment, interested students may inquire about extension availability.

Eligible Borrowers must have no delinquent service indicators or holds on their student account, no previous violations of the Loaner Device program, and possess a valid CCC student ID (A Number). Eligible borrowers must also be currently enrolled with 3 or more credit hours or have written approval from Adult Education or Workforce Administrators.

*Unfortunately, the Wi-Fi hotspots are not available to noncredit students.

Students must agree and sign the following Loaner Equipment Checkout Agreement before any loaner devices can be checked out.


Personal Computer Support Service

Calhoun Community College is pleased to offer high-level hands-on technology support services to help you with your personal device. Support services available are limited to:
  • Operating system security patches
  • Installation or upgrade of virus-, adware-, and spyware-scanning software
  • Web browser upgrade and configuration to support login to CCC academic services
  • Wireless network configuration
This service is only available to currently enrolled students. Student must agree and sign following forms before any technology support services are performed:

Dell Technologies Student Laptop Program

Calhoun Community College is now participating in Dell’s Student Laptop Program. Students are able to purchase laptops from Dell and receive an exclusive discount.

We have worked with Dell to offer laptop configurations that are tailored to meet the software specifications needed in two academic program categories:

  • General Studies
  • Drafting/Music Tech/Computer Graphics

This program is also available for Calhoun employees!

Stay informed during emergencies with the CCC Alert system, which sends notifications via text, email, or phone call.

  • Canvas:
    Alternative learning management system used for online and hybrid courses.

Bring Your Own Device (BYOD)

If you are an instructor or staff member using your own device, follow these steps to connect to Calhoun’s secured network and access in-class services.


Pharos Web Printing Portal

Print from any device to campus printers using the Pharos Print Center.


Microsoft 365 & Microsoft Teams

Use the MyCalhoun portal or M365 portal to access your email, documents, and more.


Zoom Phones

Provides flexibility and convenience with features like voicemail transcription, call recording, and mobile access.
