Students may access M365 email through the MyCalhoun portal or directly via portal.office.com. Alternatively, you can access your email directly at outlook.com/calhoun.edu.

Student email addresses follow the format A00000000@alabama.edu.

Your MyCalhoun Portal and Microsoft 365 account will remain active as long as you are an enrolled student. Once you are not enrolled for 18 months, your account and all associated data will be deleted. Make sure to save important data before your enrollment ends.

You may download the M365 suite on up to five personal devices, including mobile devices. If you encounter issues downloading the applications, you will need to contact Microsoft directly for assistance.

Students can also access M365 email through Microsoft Outlook. Basic training for Outlook is available here, and a quick start guide can be viewed and downloaded here.

Faculty and staff will access M365 email through Microsoft Outlook installed on their computers or via the MyCalhoun portal at portal.calhoun.edu. You can also access email directly via outlook.com/calhoun.edu.

Faculty and staff email addresses follow the format FirstName.LastName@calhoun.edu.

This is an alias for your underlying A00000000@alabama.edu account. Sending an email to either will reach the same mailbox. In cases where there are duplicate names, a number may be appended to the last name of your alias (e.g., john.smith@calhoun.edu and john.smith1@calhoun.edu).

If you prefer a different first name in your email address, ensure that the “preferred first name” field in Banner is correct before your account is created. Once created, name changes will only be processed under extreme circumstances.
