About the Testing Center

At the Calhoun Community College Testing Centers, we strive to meet the needs of each test-taker in a pleasant, quiet, and comfortable setting. We have locations on both campuses and can accommodate a variety of tests and exams in a proctored environment.

The Testing Centers follow all college policies regarding holidays and inclement weather. No one may be admitted and no test started one hour before closing. Note that certain types of tests may have specific hours within these ranges.

  • Friday 8:00 AM – 11:00 AM

Types of Proctored Testing at Calhoun

Calhoun Placement Testing
All entering students enrolling in associate degree or certificate programs are required to take a Placement Test unless they are exempt due to grades or ACT/SAT scores. Placement Testing may also be required for Dual Enrollment students.
Nursing Program Testing
Candidates for Calhoun’s nursing programs may be required to take the HESI A2 exam in order to qualify for acceptance.
ACT Work Keys Testing
ACT WorkKeys is a system of assessments, curriculum and skills profiling that determine, build, and measure essential workplace skills.
Pre-Employment Skills Testing
The Human Resources Department at Calhoun Community College requires a pre-employment skills assessment for certain staff positions. Please refer to the job announcement to confirm skills testing is required, and to for the range of testing dates that apply to the particular position.
Third Party Exam Proctoring
Calhoun schedules exam proctoring for other colleges and universities for both students and non-students. To schedule a proctored exam, select your location below:
CLEP® Exams

CLEP® exams are computer-based tests that cover intro-level college course material in 34 subjects, granting credit to students with qualifying CLEP exam scores and allowing them to skip the introductory courses in related subjects. CLEP® Exams are offered online or at the Huntsville-Research Park Site Testing Center. Download CLEP® Information flyer.

Workforce Testing for Employers

The Testing Center mission is to provide workforce training and assessment upon demand as requested by employers. A number of testing and assessment services are available to local employers and their employees at Calhoun.

The Testing Center mission is to provide workforce training and assessment upon demand as requested by employers. The Academic Testing Center is designed to provide an environment conducive to testing and provide students with a designated period of time that testing is available. We are dedicated to providing information and proctoring services to facilitate an individual’s educational and professional goals by:
  • Providing a state-of-the-art facility in our recently renovated Testing Center with new computers, equipment, and furnishings.
  • Adheres to the National College Testing Association (NCTA) Professional Standards and Guidelines.
  • Maintaining highest compliance with institutional, state, and federal regulations regarding confidentiality of client information and records.
  • Offering collaborative and courteous service to students, faculty, staff and community.
