I chose to apply for the co-op program because I felt it would lead me in the right direction by furthering my career and job experience for my future.

What advice would you give to a student interested in Cooperative Learning?
The advice I would give to a student interested in this program, is that they should go for it! It will only help you and push you to be the best that you can be! It will also help you find out your best interest when it comes to working in your field of study.

In your opinion, what was the most beneficial part of being a Co-Op student?
The most beneficial part of being a co-op student is learning how to value good opportunities. The team behind the co-op program work hard to see us succeed. All we have to do is put our best foot forward and go after it!

Why did you choose to apply to the Co-Op Program?
I wanted to get into my field of study and get back to being a technician/troubleshooter type. Not being in the field for a short while I was losing some of my skill set but ERC through the co-op has given me the opportunity to utilize and optimize my skills by getting back to work in the field I enjoy.

How has your co-op prepared you for a career in your field?
It has put me in the right spot to become successful in the Instrumentation field with outstanding job experience that is more than comparable with my studies in college.

In your opinion, what was the most beneficial part of being a Co-Op student?
Being part of something that is real. Getting real experience in the field of my study while other students in my field are still only in school or using their skills in a field not even related.

I choose the co-op program to gain experience in my field of study while the company works around my school schedule to ensure that I complete my degree.

How has your co-op prepared you for a career in your field?
The program is actually better than I expected. The company I work for makes sure I gain lots of hands-on experience.

In your opinion, what was the most beneficial part of being a Co-Op student?
The most beneficial part of the co-op to me is getting in the doors to work for great companies.

I chose the co-op program because I knew it would help me gain vital experience for my future career.

What advice would you give to a student interested in cooperative learning?
Go for it. There’s no better time than now to start planning and preparing for your future. Take advantage of the opportunity to work in your job field before you get your degree.

I would like to thank the Career Services staff for their gracious help that they provide. If anyone at Calhoun is not taking advantage of this great asset they are missing out on a tremendous opportunity.

Why did you choose to apply to the Co-Op Program?
I wanted to work with something that I knew I wanted to do. I didn’t want to work at a job just to have one, I want to enjoy it.

How has your co-op prepared you for a career in your field?
This has reassured me that I am in exactly what I want to be in until I retire. It has also given me another internship for the summer.

In your opinion, what was the most beneficial part of being a Co-Op student?
This made me realize how I can actually accomplish what I want to do. It has encouraged me to further my education, and start engineering school.

How has your co-op prepared you for a career in your field?
My co-op has given me exactly what I was looking for. I have gained a great amount of knowledge of my trade and at this moment it has led me to possibly have a full-time job straight out of college.

What advice would you give to a student interested in cooperative learning?
My advice to any student thinking about joining the co-op is definitely go for it. The experience you can gain is priceless.

In your opinion, what was the most beneficial part of being a Co-Op student?
The most beneficial part of the co-op to me was learning tricks of my trade from multiple maintenance men that have been in the field for decades. The experience and knowledge I have acquired over my time in the co-op will carry me a long way in my career.

Why did you choose to apply to the Co-Op Program?
I chose to apply for the co-op program for a few reasons. The first reason and the most important to me, to gain experience in my field of study under people that work daily in industry. The second reason was to make more money so I can keep furthering my education. The third and final reason, to heighten my chances of landing a better job after I graduate.

How has your co-op prepared you for a career in your field?
In the short time that I have been at my coop I have already picked up many skills I did not posses before that I will continually use throughout my career.

What advice would you give to a student interested in cooperative learning?
I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to advance their career and gain experience before getting a degree. Experience is invaluable in any field, so why not help yourself and gain some more?

I chose to apply to the co-op program because I wanted the chance to get actual experience on my resume before I graduated.

What advice would you give to a student interested in cooperative learning?
I would advise applying for this co-op learning opportunity as soon as you can because it will be on your resume, and that will help you stand out amidst the competition.

Any other feedback or comments?
School is great and it creates that needed basic knowledge; however, nothing can replace the on-the-job knowledge and real-world experience received from the job you’ve only just been studying about.

Why did you choose to apply to the Co-Op Program?
Cooperative education will give me a deeper and richer educational experience and allows me to alternate career-focused work terms with study terms and this alternation lets me apply what I learn in a class to a real-world work situation.

How has your co-op prepared you for a career in your field?
The program provides me with a unique opportunity to gain hands-on, paid experience relevant to my course of study, and inspires my intellectual and personal development.

In your opinion, what was the most beneficial part of being a Co-Op student?
Co-op allows you to “test-drive” your career and studies. Along with the work experience, you can find aspects of the field that you like or dislike, and other areas that you may want to explore.
