BIG News! The ACA is PROUD to present the 2024 ACA Jazz Festival, “Do You Know What It Means to Miss New Orleans”, on Saturday, April 13th in Decatur, Alabama!

The ACA Jazz Festival will feature University, College, High School, Middle School, Community, and Professional Jazz Ensembles!

Guest Artists include Delfeayo Marsalis & Jason Marsalis, Clinicians include Tim Leahey from the Airmen of Note & Dr. Mitch Butler (SC COLA Jazz Education Director), and Adjudicators include Bo Clayton (Austin Peay University Jazz Studies) and Monica Shriver (Nashville Musician / Author of “Brave Musician”). Educational performing groups will receive written comments and a short clinic. Venues will include the Alabama Center for the Arts, Downtown Decatur, the Princess Theatre, and The Brick! Live music will run from 9am – 5:30pm, there will be a mass clinic / Q&A with the Marsalis’s at 1pm, there will be a presentation by Yamaha Instruments, and there will be a finale concert at the Princess Theatre at 7pm featuring Guest Artists / special guests and the Calhoun Community College Show Band / Jazz Combo. Immediately following the Finale Concert, there will be an after party “jam session” at The Brick! Musicians are encouraged to “sit in”! The ACA Jazz Festival is FREE and Open to the Public! Mark your calendar! A detailed schedule of the entire ACA Jazz Festival will be published as we get closer to the festival date. Save the date and “Come Join the Music”!
