DECATUR, AL – Today, The Alabama Community College System (ACCS) and Calhoun Community College in partnership with Wiregrass Construction and Midsouth Paving will launch its heavy equipment operator training at 10:00 a.m. across the street from Calhoun’s Decatur Campus at the Lineworkers pole yard. Calhoun Community College is excited to announce thirty-four automotive scholarships will be available to individuals living in the state of Alabama for the fall 2023 semester. This week, Calhoun’s Recruiting Office welcomed students to a new academic year with a series of activities during its Welcome Week. Calhoun Community College will recognize its Top 10 Students for the 2021-2022 academic year during a special Honors Day Program. The event will be held on Friday, April 29, Calhoun’s Decatur campus, Kelley Gymnasium, 6250 US Hwy 31 N, Tanner, AL. These students exemplify high academic achievement and servant leadership through their community service. Calhoun’s Student Services Department hosts an annual self-nomination process, which allows those students who are deemed academically eligible to apply. Calhoun Community College has opened its application process for its 2021-2022 scholarships and is prepared to award over $500,000 to students. The deadline to apply is February 1, 2022. According to Johnette Davis, Calhoun Foundation Director, the application has been streamlined and provides a simpler process to assist students in qualifying for multiple forms of financial aid.
