Calhoun Community College kicks off its celebration for National Apprenticeship Week by highlighting three paid pre-apprenticeship programs FAME, EPIC, and AMP. These paid hands-on training programs provide students with the rare opportunity to complete courses necessary to obtain their degree or certificate all while getting paid. Calhoun to Send More Than 7-Million Dollars to Students in Stimulus Payment

Calhoun Community College is distributing an estimated 7.8 million dollars to students taking credit hour courses this fall. Students will receive a payment if they enroll and attend credit classes for the fall 2021 semester, and qualify under the federal Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund III (HEERF III) authorized by the American Rescue Plan. The grant allocation will also include high school students taking courses at Calhoun through the Dual Enrollment program. More than eight-thousand Calhoun students may qualify for the award. The Calhoun Community College Workforce Solutions (CWS) department is excited to announce its free National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) Plumbing Level I & II Certification training program. The training will be held on Tuesdays, beginning June 8 – December 14, 2021, on Calhoun’s Huntsville campus from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. The deadline to apply is May 28.
